The Privacy Policy explains how Northside Christian College collects, uses, stores and discloses personal and sensitive information in accordance with Australian and Victorian privacy laws. This includes information about students, parents and carers, volunteers, contractors and others who interact with the College. The primary purpose of collection is to provide education, support student wellbeing, meet legal obligations and discharge the College’s duty of care.

The policy outlines the types of information collected, how it is obtained, and how it may be used or disclosed to authorised bodies such as government agencies, service providers, medical professionals and parents. It also explains the use of surveillance technologies, secure cloud-based systems, and biometric data to support safety and consent management.

Clear expectations apply to the use of student images, videos and personal information. Consent is required for identifiable promotional use, and access to personal information may be requested, corrected or restricted in line with privacy legislation. The policy also supports lawful information sharing to promote child safety and family wellbeing and sets out the College’s response to data breaches.

All staff are responsible for maintaining confidentiality, protecting personal information from misuse or unauthorised disclosure, and following College procedures. When in doubt, staff should seek advice before collecting, using or sharing personal information.
